2025-2026 Season: Wide the Circle

We have three concerts as part of this season:

In Winter’s House: a holiday meditation on light & belonging

  • Saturday, December 7th 3:30 pm at Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church
  • Saturday, December 14th 7:30 pm at Seattle First Baptist Church

Through the lens of centuries-old rituals and liturgy, we take time to slow down this December and connect across faith traditions and cultures. We make our circle wide to welcome the stranger, and invite each other to be a light in each other’s lives. With music by Herbert Howells, Reena Esmail, Joanna Marsh, and more, join us as we open our arms to reach out across time and traditions this holiday season.

We Will Be Your Refuge: a promise of comfort and welcome, featuring Duruflé’s Requiem

  • Sunday, March 15th 3:00 pm at University Congregational Church
  • Saturday, March 21st 8:00 pm at Trinity Episcopal Parish

Following in the footsteps of his French forefather Gabriel Fauré, Maurice Duruflé composed a Requiem of immense warmth and comfort, rather than a reminder of the day of wrath. We perform this iconic work inspired by, and elaborating on, Gregorian chant in its chamber orchestration, joined on the program by Caroline Shaw’s refugee cantata, To the Hands. Her work is in turn inspired by, and elaborates on, Dietrich Buxtehude’s cantata of the same name, Ad manus. Two works, at once modern and ancient, that remind us of the importance of comforting and welcoming one another in times of need and strife.

Garden of Loves: embracing one another as we are, in joy and conversation

  • Saturday, June 6th 7:30 pm at Good Shepherd Center
  • Sunday, June 14th 3:00 pm at Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church

Anchored by Argentinean composer Carlos Guastavino’s charming and evocative Indianas, our season finale focuses on the things and people we hold dear. We explore the richness of love and life through connection with nature and one another, and the ecstatic joy of finding inspiration. The music of Guastavino, along with Astor Piazzolla, Modesta Bor, and others, invites us to encounter the sublime in its various forms, whether it be a wandering spirit, dark pines in the wind, or the caressing light of dawn.

Tickets for the concerts will be available shortly. We hope to see you at all of these concerts!
